Michelle Rosenthal is a long-time resident of Lawrenceville, NJ.
Michelle’s watercolors reflect the seasonal changes of nature. She loves the “happy accidents” and open-ended quality of the images that occur when using watercolor paints. She feels that her watercolors are the result of the blending of what she wants the paint to do and what the paint insists on doing.
Her new direction is with paper collage in which she uses a variety of papers combined with watercolor paint. As an artist, she connects the raw materials of the world around her into objects of significance that express the aspirations of art and the ethereal beauty of nature. The result is often a light-filled blending of the colors of nature in fine detail. Through her note cards and original works of local scenery; Michelle expresses her love for painting and her fascination with the world around her.
Michelle’s work is currently on exhibit at the Artist Network Gallery in Lawrenceville. She has exhibited at Chamber’s Walk as well as in two ETS juried art shows, at the Gourgaud Gallery’s Annual juried show in Cranbury, the Contemporary Gallery in Trenton, the Lawrence Township Community Day Art Show, the Lawrence Art Association Annual show, the Princeton Arts Council Juried Show and at Café Galleria in Lambertville, NJ.
