Bill McCarroll

Bill McCarroll began painting shortly after his retirement from full time teaching in the Chemistry Dept. at Rider. Trained as a solid state chemist, he first came to this area to join the technical Staff of the RCA Laboratories in Princeton. His introduction to painting was rather serendipitous. Bill’s father had been an architect and watercolorist with a reputation for fine architectural renderings. One day shortly after he retired, while rummaging through a storage cabinet in the basement of his home, Bill came across his fathers old watercolor paint box and thought it might be fun to give it a try.

Bill enjoys doing landscape paintings based typically on local scenes in and around Lawrenceville, the Delaware Bay and its surrounding  marshes as well subjects drawn family travels, particularly in his beloved Normandie, France. He paints regularly with the Watercolor Anarchists at Artworks of Trenton directed by his mentor Gail Bracegirdle and looks forward to a long and enduring relationship with the Lawrenceville Main Street Artists Network and its’ members. Bill resides in Lawrenceville with his wife Chantal.
