Jo-Anne Madsen, Glasswork and sculpure

Jo-Anne Madsen

I have earned a B.A. in Fine Art at Monmouth University and I am a New Jersey resident and artist.  After many years of entrepreneurship, I have decided to do the two things I loves most, teaching and art.  I have completed certifications in both Elementary Education k-5 and Art Education k-12.  I have recently showed at the Woodbridge Artisan Guild and I am currently showing in the Lawrenceville Main Street Gallery where I am also giving various classes for children and adults. I will also be teaching family workshops at the Grounds for Sculpture in the spring. My favorite teaching moment is to see the “light bulb” go off for a student.  My interest is in drawing, glass work and sculpting.  I incorporate many mediums into my sculpting including found material such as glass, metal and natural objects.  I have trained in classic style glass techniques at Plumb Gully Studios in Manchester, Ct. and I am still learning how to manipulate glass by using hot glass techniques.  My plan is to incorporate hot glass into my sculpting.
