Art Classes in the Gallery Studios

LMS Artists Network offers art classes, workshops, schoolbreak and summer camp for adults/teens and children. Our instructors are well-trained and experienced in teaching the arts. Children's Art Class Schedule

 

Monday After School Class Art class

This enjoyable class will focus on improving drawing skills. We will work with various drawing materials (graded pencils, chalk, and charcoal) and do timed techniques. We will draw a still life, make a 2-page comic book, and do contour drawing and perspective techniques. For the child who loves to draw.

Ages: 8 and up

Thursday After School Class

This class has fun with many types of art, but focuses on 3-D techniques.
We will sculpt a clay project, make a tiled work in a frame and paint a stretched canvas.

Doll Making Fun!

This creative class will teach simple sewing , cutting and some pattern making techniques.
We will build a basic doll from a simplified pattern and make a set of clothes for it.

Jewelry Making (2 days) April 9th, and 10th

Students will learn to make one of a kind bracelet and a necklace.
Students will be introduced to various jewelry tools making using a variety of beads.

Puppet Making (3 days) April 11th 12th, and 13th

This is a special fun project where students will m ake their own puppets.
Taking this class will give the students a knowledge of sewing fabric and color matching.

Adult/Teen Art Class Schedule

Still Life Drawing with Oil Pastels

6 classes

Learn the art of oil pastels and develop your drawing skills. Classes
will be suitable for beginner or more advanced artists. Supply list
will be provided prior to class

Monday Adult Drawing sketching

6 classes

This class is set-up for the person who wants to explore and try different drawing techniques and styles in different mediums. We will be working on a series of drawings
so be prepared to get homework! A class list of supplies will be provided.
This class has a 4 person minimum and pre registration is required.

Tuesday Adult Drawing

6 classes

Learn to break your dependence on Line. Use Tone instead!
Learn to use sfumato (blending one tone into another without abrupt outline) and chiaroscuro (treatment of light and shadow) to create depth and volume in your drawings
using charcoal just like the Old Masters!
This class is open to all skill levels.

Beginners Watercolor watercolor painting

6 classes

Beginners to advanced come learn the joys and capabilities of watercolor. Among other techniques: learn how to apply a flat even wash, a wash from light to dark, a wash from dark to light, how various colors react when made soluble with water, mixing wet colors and layering of one color over a previously painted wash.

Session II: April 20th, 27th, May 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th

Intermediate Watercolor

6 classes

In this intermediate class we will continue to learn more about perspective and will explore wet in wet techniques. We will use resist materials which block out parts of the painting from absorbing colors. We will explore negative painting both in landscape and floral paintings. Craft Parties for Kids Birthdays, Wedding & Baby Showers, or just for fun.

Contact Leslie Siegel by phone or email to discuss your party. When emailing or leaving a message, please include your name, if for child—age of child, and the date(s) and times that you are interested in.

Note: Food and beverages are not permitted for these parties. The Purple Cow, our local ice-cream shop, is right next door to us. We had many successful parties starting out at the gallery and ending at The Purple Cow. Bring your cake and have ice cream with it! (please contact The Purple Cow if you plan to bring a large group so that they will be prepared)

LMS Artist Network Membership

The LMS Artists Network (LMSAN) is a cooperative gallery offering a place for artists and those interested in art to meet and build an artists' community. Anyone can become a Network Member, Supporting Member or a Patron, helping to strengthen the arts in Lawrenceville while receiving many network member benefits including a discount on classes.

Gallery Member – must be approved by General Membership
Annual Fee: $1200/year ($100/month)

• Exhibits artwork in gallery on continuing basis
• Right to teach classes on first priority basis

Network Member
Annual Fee: $120

• May be invited to display once a year in the gallery
• Discount on LMSAN classes (limit four classes/year)
