Artists Statement

By manipulating the saturation, colors and other aspects of the photos I have taken, I guess I would call myself an impressionist photographer. I am always looking for things to photograph that will yield something interesting. When I play with them in Photoshop I am often surprised at the result.

Biography

My road to computers and photography started when I bought my first inexpensive Kodak camera in 1968 followed by the usual progression of Kodak cameras until I bought a 35mm SLR Minolta 101 in 1975. I started creating computer generated digital art on an Atari 700 console in 1982, moving to a "real" home computer in 1985. It wasn't until 1995 that I combined photography with computers and in 1998 I discovered Photoshop, thanks to my son, Zack. I moved into digital cameras in 1999 and currently I use a Nikon D80. I am currently printing on canvas to give the prints more punch. I am a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.

All in all, I'm just a California guy who ended up in New Jersey in 2003 and was very fortunate to meet the woman of my dreams. We are happily living in Lawrenceville.

Examples of my digital photo art can be viewed on flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/colorcrank/
