Janneke Van der Ree

JannekeQuilt is the name on her business card, but she makes all sorts of wonderful fabric art. Born in the Netherlands, Janneke grew up as a typical Dutch "crafty" child. Always wanting to become a teacher, she graduated with a speciality in textile arts and drawing. After a few years of teaching she began traveling the world, following her husband’s workplaces. After settling in the USA she took up quilting and learned the craft from the Lancaster and Pennsylvanian quilters. Janneke–the teacher, continues to guide young and old towards expressing themselves through fiber art. Besides the traditional aspects of quilting, Janneke infuses a whimsical color sense in her joyful art pieces. Her home is now in Pennington, NJ, with her Dutch family of five.
